For years, I kept ending up with the same kind of mentor. Different faces, same shape.

Someone would take me in, invest in me, nurture something in me before I could see it myself. Then, the moment I chose a path that wasn’t the one they wanted for me, the door closed.

I didn’t plan this. I didn’t choose it on purpose. It just kept happening, like the universe was running the same program on a loop that wouldn’t stop.

As a teenager, I left a troubled home to live with a friend’s family, my foster family. They gave me structure and a shot at a healthier life. Then I fell in love with their daughter, and it didn’t fit their beliefs. I was told to leave and not to return. Years later, a mystery school teacher recognized a spiritual gift in me and brought me into her program at no cost. When I chose not to walk the path she wanted for me, that door closed too.

I tried reconnecting with both, decades later. Both reunions went the same way: a little warmth at first, then distance, then silence. Neither ever acknowledged what had happened. It just faded, unspoken, the same way it started.

That’s a pattern repeating across completely different people and decades, because something underneath it, in me, hadn’t changed yet. Once I recognized it, I stopped reaching toward people who only wanted me on their terms.

You’ve likely lived a version of this too. Not necessarily mentors. Maybe it’s partners, maybe it’s friendships, maybe it’s jobs. The faces change. The shape doesn’t, until you see it clearly enough to change your own part in it.

That’s the second Hermetic principle at work, and it’s as good a place as any to start this article.

What the Hermetic Principles Actually Are

The seven principles come from a body of teaching known as Hermeticism, famously distilled into a short book called The Kybalion, published in the early 1900s and attributed to “Three Initiates.” The ideas themselves are older, tracing back to teachings associated with Hermes Trismegistus, a legendary figure blending Greek and Egyptian wisdom traditions.

You don’t need the history to use them. Think of them less as ancient doctrine and more as an operating system running quietly under everything you experience. The confusing moments. The unhealthy patterns that keep repeating with different people and circumstances. The sudden emotional reversal that seemed to come out of nowhere. The thing that felt like pure bad luck. Once you know the rules, those moments stop looking random and start looking like something you can change; with persistence and practice, for the better.

1. The Principle of Mentalism

“The All is Mind. The Universe is Mental.”

This principle holds that consciousness comes first. Not matter, not circumstance, mind. What you focus on, believe, and give attention to shapes what you experience.

You’ve felt a version of this already. Walk into a room believing everyone dislikes you, and you’ll find evidence for it in glance after glance. Walk in expecting warmth, and the same room feels different. The room didn’t change. Your thinking did.

2. The Principle of Correspondence

“As above, so below. As within, so without.”

This is the pattern principle. What shows up in one part of your life tends to show up in another, often in disguise. A pattern in your family repeats in your friendships. A pattern in your friendships repeats in your career.

This is the one from my story. Foster family, mystery school teacher, decades apart, same shape. Once I recognized the correspondence principle, I stopped calling it coincidence. I also stopped reaching out to people who didn’t appreciate me for who I am.

3. The Principle of Vibration

“Nothing rests. Everything moves. Everything vibrates.”

Everything, thought, emotion, and matter, has a frequency. Nothing is static, even when it looks still.

You already read rooms by this principle. You’ve walked into a space and felt tension before anyone said a word. You’ve felt someone’s energy shift over a phone call, no visual cues at all. You were reading vibration.

4. The Principle of Polarity

“Everything is dual. Everything has poles. Opposites are identical in nature, differing only in degree.”

Hot and cold are the same phenomenon at different points on one scale. So are love and hate, courage and fear. This principle says opposites aren’t separate things fighting each other. They’re two ends of the same rope.

This matters practically. If fear and courage sit on the same scale, courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s a different point on the same line, which means it’s reachable by degrees, not by some sudden transformation. For those of you familiar with Abraham Hicks and The Law of Attraction, might recognize this one. The concept helped me tremendously. I learned to move from sadness, to anger, to comfort, to joy. Or something along those lines. I just kept increasing the frequency of my emotions until I liked where I was.

5. The Principle of Rhythm

“Everything flows, out and in. Everything has its tides.”

Life moves in swings. Expansion, contraction. Effort, rest. Grief, relief. This principle says the swing itself is the constant, not the direction you’re currently facing.

This is the one that makes hard seasons survivable. If you know the tide turns again in time, a contraction stops feeling like a life sentence and starts feeling like a phase.

6. The Principle of Cause and Effect

“Every cause has its effect. Every effect has its cause. Chance is a name for a law not yet recognized.”

Nothing happens in isolation. What looks random from where you’re standing usually has a traceable cause, even if you can’t see it yet.

This one asks something uncomfortable: where in your life have you been calling something “bad luck” that was actually a pattern you set in motion, sometimes years earlier, without meaning to?

7. The Principle of Gender

“Gender is in everything. Everything has masculine and feminine principles.”

This isn’t about biological sex. It’s about two energetic qualities present in everyone and everything: a generative, active quality, and a receptive, nurturing quality. Real creation, in a project, a relationship, a life, needs both.

You’ve likely felt the imbalance when it’s missing. All drive and no receiving burns out fast. All receiving and no drive struggles to get off the ground.

Why This Matters Now

You don’t need to memorize all seven laws. You need one lens that finally explains why your life keeps doing the things it does.

For me, that lens was the Correspondence principle. It let me stop asking “why do I keep attracting this” and start asking “what pattern am I still running.” Different question. Completely different answer.

The pattern isn’t the problem. Not seeing it is.

How to apply this knowledge to your life

Try this. Pick one principle from the list, the one that connected with you the most when you read it. Then be on the lookout for that pattern in your daily life.

Don’t try to apply all seven principles at once. Just notice the one that you picked. See what it shows you. Maybe an aha recognition pops up in your mind. If you feel compelled, write it down in your journal.

Have you noticed that some days feel different lately?

Heavier in the mornings, oddly calm the next, like your own moods aren’t fully your own anymore.

That’s not your imagination.

Our planet and people living on it are moving through a period of intensified energy, which many teachings describe as a shift from a third-dimensional way of living into a fifth-dimensional one. The third dimension is the world running on fear, scarcity, and separation. The fifth dimension is life run by love, connection, and ease.

This higher frequency touches everything: your nervous system, your emotions, your sense of what matters. It gives you a choice. You can resist it and feel the friction that comes with that. Or you can stay grounded in your Higher Self and hold that energy with grace instead of tension.

Many teachings call the completed version of the shift, ascension, a specific state where you’re fully anchored in your Higher Self rather than caught in fear and reaction. You don’t arrive there all at once. You practice it daily, in the choice to meet a difficult situation from a place of peace instead of fear.

The Golden Age is that larger shift, already underway, right now, in you, in the people around you, and in the Earth.

So here’s where to start.

The next time you feel that anxious charge, that “too much” feeling of overwhelm, pause for one breath and ask: what would my Higher Self do right now? That’s where the practice begins.

It is about the ultimate rescue of Earth and her inhabitants. The act that made it possible for any of us to be here during this extraordinary time and why the timing of your being here (and mine) is no accident.

Sanat Kumara’s Sacrifice That Kept Earth Standing

Long before any of us were born, Earth was in real trouble.

According to the Ascended Master teachings (more on that later in this article), Earth had become a kind of overflow planet. Souls who failed to evolve on their own worlds were sent here to try again, and the burden of their darkness grew heavier than the planet could safely hold. Archangel Michael’s own account of that time is direct about how close it came.

Michael says:

“Then it was that the beloved Archangel Raphael asked for volunteers from other systems and other stars to counterbalance the destructive energy of the excess population, lest our Earth be swung completely off her axis and dissolved into nothingness.“

Lucky for Earth, Sanat Kumara answered that call. He came from Venus, along with a group of 30 volunteers, and took on the task of creating and holding enough Light at Earth’s center to keep the planet from collapsing under its own imbalance. That was not a one-time gesture. It meant staying, for millions of years, as a kind of living anchor, while humanity slowly, unevenly, found its way back toward the Light he was holding for us.

He did not do this so we would feel inspired by his unimaginable sacrifice. He did it to make sure Earth would still be here when the rest of us were ready to wake up and expand our Light.

I know how this sounds. Ancient councils, a planetary rescue, beings who came here from Venus. It can read like mythology, or worse, like something you’re expected to accept on faith with no proof at all. I’m not asking you to take my word for any of it. I’m asking you to sit with the shape of the story and notice whether it explains something in you that logic alone has not.

The Great White Brotherhood

Sanat Kumara did not hold the Light alone for all those millions of years.

Not long after the Volunteers from Venus arrived, he gathered the ones among them ready to serve into what the Ascended Master teachings call the Great White Brotherhood. That name trips people up the first time they hear it. It has nothing to do with race. It points to a state of consciousness, the radiant light of a being who has mastered the lower self and merged back into the Light of their own I AM Presence (spirit self).

This was never an organization as we think of one today. It was, and still is, a working body. Each member earned their place first as a soul in a body on Earth, then through what the teachings call the ascension itself. Jesus belongs to this group. So do Mary, Buddha, and Moses.

Their first council was held at Shamballa hundreds of thousands of years ago, with participants gathered around what the old accounts describe as a Golden Table representing the sun. Sanat Kumara presided. Each member was given a responsibility suited to their own gifts, and they met again and again to track the plan’s progress and expand it.

They worked side by side, under one guidance, so that no single being’s light had to carry the whole plan alone.

That structure did not stay locked away in the unseen realms. It found its way into the visible world too, in what may be its best-known echo: King Arthur’s Round Table in the fourth century, founded, so the teachings say, by a soul who remembered the Councils at Shamballa and tried to build that same order of loyal service here on Earth.

Here is the detail worth pausing on. The Great White Brotherhood was not built to be a closed circle of ascended beings looking down on the rest of us. From the beginning, it was built to include humanity’s participation. As souls, whether in the body or out of it, were drawn toward that Spiritual Center, they were invited into the discussions. Not commanded. Invited.

That invitation did not close after the Council was formed. It is still open today.

The Rescue Humanity Earned

That invitation didn’t stay the same size forever, either. As more souls answered the call, the teachings hold they too became part of that same Brotherhood, joining the effort to save Earth.

January 1952. A decision came down from the Karmic Board: Sanat Kumara must be released from his post on Earth within twenty years, and only as fast as humanity could carry the weight of that freedom. The first stage called 2,000 specially-endowed people to be instructed in the Law by the Great White Brotherhood to become teachers of the Law to the masses.

July 1952. It worked so well the grant widened to include 198,000 more.

Then progress stalled. Ascended Masters Serapis Bey and Saint Germain were very concerned that enough Light energy might not get generated to save Earth and release Sanat Kumara in time.

On June 29, 1953, at the Rocky Mountain Retreat, Serapis Bey said out loud that he wished he had something concrete from ordinary students themselves, some proof he could bring to the Karmic Board to show that people were generating harmoniously qualified energy and were ready for more responsibility.

That same evening, without being asked, a small group of students gathered independently and began making their own invocations and calls for the awakening of the full 200,000 students who had already been given the grant. Surprisingly, it worked.

“... and the council rooms began to hum with the sound of harmonious energy, qualified with calls to the Great Central Sun, the Karmic Board and the Cosmic Law for mercy, forgiveness, and dispensations to increase the number of lifestreams who might be blessed with a closer, sweeter and more powerful association with their own Holy Christ Self. On hearing this, beloved Saint Germain joyously struck the table with his hand, saying, “Serapis— there is your energy!”

The Karmic Board increased the grant again. This time, to one million souls.

Look at what actually tipped the scales here.

The rescue of an entire planet did not proceed because the masters decided that humanity had earned it. It moved because ordinary people did something real, on their own, in the moment it was needed.

Earth didn’t have to hold its breath for twenty years wondering if it would survive, and Sanat Kumara didn’t have to wait to be released. Only four years were needed to increase the Light on Earth and save it from destruction. Sanat Kumara was released on January 21, 1956.

What Gnosis and the Law Taught Me About Timing

I did not encounter this material when I was young.

It was late in life and well into my own path of illumination, when I first read The Gnosis and the Law, Tellis Papastavro’s insights into the Ascended Master teachings. What caught my attention were the massive footnotes at the bottom of many pages. Sometimes the footnotes were longer than the main material. Eventually I traced the footnotes back to two dispensations (teachings), one from the 1930s called the I AM Activity and the other from the 1950s called Bridge to Freedom. What amazed me even more was the fact that all this information was nearly lost to history. I won’t go into the details, but lucky for us, Werner Schroeder of the Ascended Master Teaching Foundation decided to save it. He and his wife left their jobs and spent decades recovering and republishing those original teachings. That is how one book led me into over ten thousand pages of dense spiritual teaching.

I remember thinking, more than once, how different my life might have looked if I had found this content decades earlier. There have been nights since when I have struggled to hold the intensity of the light coming into the planet right now, and some part of me wondered if earlier training would have made that easier.

But the more honestly I look at it, the less I believe I was late.

My own inner work, the years of learning who I actually was before I ever opened that book, had to happen first. There would not have been anywhere for this material to land otherwise. I also could not have absorbed the over ten thousand pages of dense teaching on my own. The tools that let me actually study, cross-reference, and make sense of that volume of material did not exist until very recently. And the truth is, my nature has long been to teach what I learn almost as soon as I learn it. If I had received this material decades ago, before the world had any real appetite to hear it, I am not sure it would have gone anywhere at all.

I got this material at the exact point I was capable of using it. Not a moment sooner.

Your Own Timing Was Not Random Either

That is the same shape as Sanat Kumara’s release, just at a much smaller scale. The dispensation did not move ahead of what people were actually ready to carry. Neither, I think, does yours.

I cannot tell you exactly when your own inner shift began. But I can tell you mine has a real date attached to it. On October 28, 1984, I felt a pull I could not explain to leave my life behind and move to Mount Hood. That was the actual beginning. By December of 1985, I had found my way into Lakota Sioux mystery school teachings. In 1987, I joined the Church of Religious Science in Portland and started studying Ernest Holmes’ Science of Mind.

That same year, in August, thousands of people around the world gathered at sunrise for what became known as the Harmonic Convergence, a moment many people who were paying attention to that kind of thing still remember clearly.

If you are old enough to recall it, what were you doing during the Harmonic Convergence in 1987? Did anything shift in your life around that time, even if you didn’t have the language for it yet?

Whether that date means anything to you personally or not, I would ask you to do one thing before you close this piece. Think of one moment in your own life that you once quietly filed away as too late. A path you did not take soon enough. A truth you wish you had understood decades earlier. Now ask yourself honestly whether that timing was actually a mistake, or whether it was the only point at which you could have actually received what came next.

Sanat Kumara held his post for millions of years without rushing the terms of his own release. The Karmic Board did not widen the grant a day before students proved they could hold it. You are not behind. You arrived exactly when you were able to.

There is a particular kind of longing that does not feel like ordinary nostalgia. It does not attach itself to a specific memory, person, or place you can name. It is more like an ache for something you cannot quite locate, a sense that somewhere, in some time you cannot access consciously, things were different. Better. Whole.

I have felt that longing for much of my life. And when I began studying the Ageless Wisdom teachings in depth, particularly the material compiled in Tellis S. Papastavro’s The Gnosis and the Law, I found something I had not expected. Not answers exactly, more like a map of the territory that explains why I’ve often felt like I don’t belong on this planet.

This is Part 2 of a three-part series on the true origins of Earth and humanity as presented through the Ascended Master teachings. In Part 1, we followed the story from the very beginning: the creation of our solar system through Helios and Vesta, the descent of Spirit Sparks from the heart of God, the long journey through the Seven Spheres, the individualization of the I AM Presence, and the first embodiments of souls on this planet. If you have not read Part 1, I recommend starting there. The story we are telling in this series builds on itself.

In this installment, we arrive at the part of the story that explains almost everything about the world you are living in right now. The part most people have probably not heard.

The First Golden Age: What Earth Was Meant to Be

Before we can understand what was lost, we have to understand what existed before the loss.

The Ascended Master teachings (sometimes called the new golden age bible) describe not one but two Golden Ages that preceded the difficulties we are about to explore. In those early periods, the Earth was something we would barely recognize today. The atmosphere was luminous. The planet itself radiated light. Mountains, forests, oceans, and lakes existed in a state of pristine perfection. Birds sang. But there were no four-footed animals, no insects, no reptiles. The darkness and predation we associate with the natural world had not yet entered the picture. That comes later in the story, and the how of it is one of the most startling things in this entire teaching.

More significant than the physical beauty was the quality of consciousness available to humanity in those early ages. The Ascended Masters, the Archangels, and the Elohim were not distant, invisible presences to be reached through years of spiritual discipline. They were known. Seen. Heard. The connection between humanity and the higher octaves was direct and conscious. Ascended Beings walked among men and women in a relationship of open communion, and the guidance of the I AM Presence flowed unobstructed into daily life.

The source material describes the effulgence of these Beings (a state of radiant splendor or great brightness) and their very proximity to the people of the early races as making the process of spiritual evolution relatively simple and natural. Humanity was, as the teachings put it, in a state of happy innocence. Each soul completed its round of evolution and returned to the heart of God without the accumulation of karma, without the distortions of ego, without the crushing weight of embodiment after embodiment of unresolved energy.

I sit with this description and feel something in my chest respond to it. Not as information. As memory. The birds particularly. I have been a birdwatcher most of my life, drawn to them in a way I could not fully explain. When I read that birds were present in those early ages, before the darkness arrived, something in me recognized that. I cannot prove it is memory. But I know the difference between reading something interesting and reading something that lands in the body as recognition. This landed. I think Native Americans recognize it too. Which is why they often see hawks, eagles, and other birds as messengers; other animals too, but that’s a different story.

The Laggards: When Another Planet’s Problem Became Ours

The Ageless Wisdom teachings describe human evolution on Earth as occurring through seven Root Races, each representing a distinct phase of development in consciousness and form. The first two Root Races evolved in the luminous conditions of the early Golden Ages, largely etheric in nature, and completed their cycles without the complications that would come later.

It was during the incoming of the Fourth Root Race that everything changed.

Here is where the story becomes difficult. And also where it becomes essential.

A Cosmic Council was convened. The Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth was called to address a situation involving billions of lifestreams from another galaxy. These souls had failed to keep pace with the spiritual evolution required of their own planet. Their world was undergoing what the teachings call the Inbreath, moving closer to its central sun, which by Cosmic Law requires an acceleration of vibration in both the planet and its inhabitants. These souls refused to go along. They were complacent, resistant to growth, lagging behind others on their planet. The Masters called them, plainly, the Laggards.

Rather than subject these souls to what the teachings call the ‘second death’, which would have dissolved their individualized consciousness entirely and required them to begin their journey as a spirit spark again from the beginning, the Hierarchy of Earth made an extraordinary act of mercy. They offered Earth as a temporary home. The conditions here were still harmonious. The vibration was slightly slower than in other planetary schoolrooms, making it a suitable environment. The hope was that exposure to the purity and Light of Earth’s existing inhabitants would gradually elevate the Laggards and help them transmute their accumulated karma.

The high priests and guardian spirits of Earth were informed. The general population was not.

For one hundred years, the high priests worked by decreeing (the practice of speaking God’s promises aloud to establish them as realities in life) to erect an energetic shield around Earth’s lifestreams, in an attempt to prevent contamination. It was not enough.

What did the Laggards look like when they arrived? They came in bodies indistinguishable from anyone else. You could not pick them out in a crowd. But they carried something with them that had no prior existence on this planet: arrogance, rebellion, stubbornness, resistance to change, resentment toward growth. These qualities began radiating into Earth’s atmosphere like smog into clean air.

The source material from the Ascended Master teachings describes what happened next with unsettling clarity. The people of Earth, innocent and curious, began to tune in to these impure thoughtforms. They experimented with them. They listened to, as the teaching puts it, the wrong crowd. And in doing so, they began to turn their attention away from their I AM Presence and toward their outer senses. They became, in the language of the teaching, sense-conscious instead of God-conscious.

That shift in attention is what the teachings call the Fall of Man. Not a dramatic single event. A gradual turning away. A slow forgetting.

It seems I have experienced a small-scale version of this during my life. I came into this world knowing I am a Child of God. There was a radiance to that knowing, something so visible that others were drawn to it, and not always gently. I radiated Light that drew my parents to me, sometimes in a good way and sometimes not. At age 9, I remember my mother telling me that I was a bright light in her life.

Life in my teens and into college wore that knowing down. It did not disappear, but it dimmed. It wasn’t until I was 21 years old, still in college, that I became clear about my journey. I spoke an intentional thought, out loud, at a local bar while shooting pool with friends. I made a decision to know myself, to understand what I actually thought, felt, and wanted, separate from what the world had overlaid on me. That moment was the beginning of my long walk back.

Every embodiment begins with the memory wiped. Even an Ascended Master reincarnating today would arrive without conscious recall of who they are. That is the condition of life behind the Veil. The difference between those who find their way back and those who do not lies in what they choose to do with their longing.

The Veil of Maya: The Day the Light Went Quiet

The contamination did not spread instantly. Archangel Michael, speaking through the Ascended Master teachings, describes the Veil forming slowly at first, like a local wisp of smoke. Then, as the ages passed, it became an increasing fog.

And then there came a day.

The language in the source material is unambiguous. There came a day when the Spiritual Sun, the Great Masters of Wisdom, the Elohim and the Archangels could be heard but no longer seen. The direct, visible communion of the First Golden Age ended. The Silver Cord, the stream of Life connecting each soul to its I AM Presence, shrank. The full flow of divine intelligence and love was reduced to a trickle. Fear entered human experience for the first time. The personal ego was born, that small and frightened self that believes it must navigate existence alone, without God, without guidance. And karma began accumulating, the record of every thought, feeling, word, and action qualified with discord, building up lifetime after lifetime without the tools or the consciousness to clear it.

This is the condition we inherited. This is why the connection you sense but cannot quite reach feels so far away. The distance is real. It was created and has a history.

If you feel grief reading this, let it land. That grief is not weakness. It is recognition. It is the part of you that remembers what direct connection felt like, even if you cannot access the memory consciously.

What has helped me find my way back, at least partially: other people who are awake. I cannot overstate this. Conversations with people who are genuinely on the path, who speak the language of the inner life from lived experience rather than borrowed vocabulary, have done more for my remembering than almost anything else. Being in spiritual community, finding your people, matters more than most spiritual teachings acknowledge. Meditation and prayer create the conditions for the connection to reestablish itself. They thin the Veil from the inside.

The way back exists. It has always existed. And in our current moment in history, it is more available than it has been in a very long time; more on that in Part 3.

The Black Magicians and the Creation of the Four-Footed Kingdom

Now we arrive at one of the most startling revelations in this entire teaching.

Before the Fall, Earth had no four-footed animals. No reptiles. No insects. The animal kingdom as we know it did not exist. What existed were birds, and the elemental life of the Nature Kingdom: the beings of earth, water, and air who had taken a solemn vow to serve humanity and help sustain the physical world. Even fire didn’t exist yet.

What created four-footed animals?

The Gnosis and the Law, drawing from Bridge to Freedom source material, is direct on this point. The four-footed animal kingdom was not God’s creation. Mother Earth herself, when speaking to students through the Ascended Master teachings, conspicuously did not mention the four-footed animals because she knew they were not hers. Saint Germain associated their creation with the activities of the black magicians. The Master Djwhal Khul confirmed the same: animals were not co-created with man, were never in the Garden of Eden, and were created after the Fall, not by God, but by the dark forces.

A clarification that Papastavro includes in a footnote deserves to be stated plainly here:

“The term black magician, in distinction from the White Magicians, does not refer to color, but indicates an individual who had extensive training in the Spiritual Law and developed high metaphysical powers which he used for destructive purposes.” — The Gnosis and The Law by Tellis S. Papastavro

This is, at its core, the oldest story in the human experience: the misuse of spiritual power. Good versus evil. That conflict did not end in ancient history. It is still active today, though in different forms.

Here is what happened. After the Fall, certain elementals who had originally vowed to serve humanity found themselves subjected to man’s ingratitude and discord. In resentment, some bound themselves karmically to members of the black lodge. These black magicians, working with a technique the teachings call precipitation, the drawing of light-substance from the Universal, forced these elementals into animal bodies they designed, which had horizontal spines. The purpose was twofold: to use these creatures for the destruction of anyone serving the Light, and to gradually reduce humanity to the level of their creation.

The black magicians even founded schools. Before Lemuria sank, hundreds of them gathered in caverns in the Andes Mountains of South America and trained their students, who were mostly the former Laggards, in these dark arts.

The struggle that followed was, as the source material describes it, of Cosmic dimensions. A battle of Titans between the Powers of Light and the dark forces, with the Andes caverns as the center of operation. When the vortex of that darkness was finally broken and its leaders were withdrawn, the remaining black magicians were offered the opportunity to withdraw their creations. They refused. Humanity, having no awareness of what was happening, offered no invocation that might have compelled the Cosmic Law to intervene. So the elemental life that had been forced into those animal bodies remained. A prisoner of dark forces, and of human recalcitrancy (uncooperative attitude toward authority or discipline).

This is why the Maha Chohan, speaking through the Ascended Master material in 1963, explained that animals do not carry the Immortal Threefold Flame. They evolve a soul, and at a certain point are released from re-embodiment into the Nature Kingdom, where they serve as something like Angels, carrying love, healing, peace, and protection. They have no free will to use the Sacred Fire of the Violet Flame. They are not God’s original creation, but they are not without evolution or possibility.

The good news on this front: by 1890, black magicians of the level of power described here no longer existed on Earth. The Goddess of Light withdrew them completely. The pattern they seeded remains. But the most extreme wielders of that power are gone.

The Blueprint Diminished: Two Strands Where Twelve Once Stood

The consequences of the Fall reached deeper than consciousness. They reached into the physical blueprint of the human body itself.

The teaching is this: humanity originally possessed twelve strands of active DNA, the full template for what a human being is capable of spiritually, perceptually, and as a co-creator with God. After the Fall, that template was reduced to two active strands. The remaining ten went dormant. The result was a humanity operating at a fraction of its original capacity: limited spiritual perception, diminished ability to consciously direct energy, a vastly reduced connection to the higher dimensions of its own being.

Think about what two strands versus twelve strands actually means in practical terms. Two active strands gives you enough to survive, reproduce, navigate physical existence. But the capacities that made the First Golden Age possible, the ability to consciously commune with Ascended Beings, to see and hear in the higher octaves, to co-create with the Sacred Fire, to hold the full knowing of your I AM Presence in waking consciousness, those capacities require more of the full template. With only two strands active, humanity has been, quite literally, running on minimal power for a very long time.

The restoration of those ten dormant strands is underway right now, in this current Golden Age led by Ascended Master Saint Germain. It is one of the most significant aspects of what is happening on Earth at this moment in history, and it deserves its own full treatment. We will return to it in a dedicated future article.

The Long Road Home

So here is where we stand at the end of Part 2.

Earth was designed for beauty, for conscious communion, for a humanity that walked in full knowledge of its divine identity. That design was compromised. Souls arrived who were not ready. A darkness entered that humanity was not equipped to resist. The Veil descended. The blueprint contracted. And for millions of years, the Ascended Masters, Archangels and other Cosmic Beings have been working, often invisibly, to keep enough Light alive in the hearts of enough people to make the rescue possible.

That rescue is what Part 3 is about. The sacrifice of Ascended Master Sanat Kumara, who left his beloved Venus to sustain this planet through the long darkness when it might otherwise have been dissolved entirely. The 1930’s and the 1950’s Cosmic Edicts (Ascended Master teachings). The dispensations. The Harmonic Convergence. The current Golden Age, and what it actually means that you are alive and awake and reading this right now.

This is not random. Nothing about this moment is random.

The road home is long. It has always been long. But you are on it. The fact that you feel the longing at all, that something in you recognizes this story, is itself evidence that the connection is not broken. Thinned, yes. Veiled, yes. But the Silver Cord still runs from your heart to your I AM Presence. The Threefold Flame still burns in the chamber of your heart. The road home runs straight through the center of who you already are.

One day, without warning, the images came.

I was going about my ordinary life when I suddenly saw myself in Atlantis, working with enormous crystals that generated energy for the cities. I loved those crystals. That part was clear. And then, just as suddenly, an overwhelming feeling of guilt and regret came over me.

Oh no! Was I responsible for the fall of Atlantis?

I became emotional in a way I could neither explain nor reason away. I reached out to someone else in my Ascending Masters of Light group who had her own memories of Atlantis and crystals. Knowing I was not alone helped, but the feeling did not fully resolve.

When I heard about a medical intuitive and energy healer named Janet Doerr who would be at the Rasani Fair, I went specifically to talk about my role on Atlantis. It was the first thing on my mind.

Janet and I recognized each other immediately, the way you sometimes do with someone you have known in another context you cannot quite place. We swapped stories. She looked at me, really looked, and said things about me that she had no ordinary way of knowing.

When I brought up Atlantis, I became emotional again. She encouraged me to stay with it. What emerged confirmed what I had already felt: I had been working with those crystals in good faith, but I had been deceived about the true nature of the project. I had not wanted to see what was in front of me, and I had lacked discernment.

Janet helped me clear that energy from my body. My gut issues, which also came up during the session, partly traced back to the same source. The guilt had been living in my belly for thousands of years. After that release, something in me finally settled.

It was the first time in my life I felt I was reading the actual truth about who we are and why we are here. Not a theory. Not a belief system. A detailed, coherent account of human origins that answered questions I had been carrying for much of my life.

This article is my attempt to share some of that with you.

THE QUESTIONS PHILOSOPHY COULD NOT ANSWER

Every serious tradition of human thought has circled the same questions. Who are we? Where did we come from? Why are we here?

Philosophy offered elegant frameworks. Religion offered faith. Science offered mechanisms. But none of them, if you pressed far enough, could give you a foundation that felt completely solid. The philosopher acknowledged his hypothesis. The theologian admitted the limits of doctrine. The scientist could describe the how but not the why.

According to the Ascended Master teachings presented in The Gnosis and the Law and The Bridge to Freedom, this was not an accident. For thousands of years, a law governed the release of spiritual knowledge, what the teachings call the Occult Law, meaning hidden, not dark. Under this law, certain truths could not be given directly. They had to be veiled in allegory, myth, and parable, released only to initiates prepared to receive them.

That changed in the 1950s, when the Ascended Master El Morya received permission from the Karmic Board, the governing body overseeing the spiritual evolution of this planet, to release these teachings directly and plainly to support Ascended Master Saint Germain in ushering in the new age of Freedom as defined by the Seventh Ray. What had been hidden for millennia became available to anyone willing to read.

What follows is drawn from that body of teaching.

IN THE BEGINNING: HELIOS AND VESTA

Long before Earth existed, long before humanity took form, there was a moment of cosmic intention.

Two Divine Beings, Helios and Vesta, a masculine and feminine pair, had evolved to the point where Cosmic Law granted them the right to create a system of worlds. They applied to Alpha and Omega, the Father-Mother God of our galaxy, also called the Great Central Sun, for that privilege. The application was granted.

Helios and Vesta designed their solar system from within their own consciousness, holding the vision of seven planets, their locations, their sizes, the number of souls that would eventually inhabit each one. From the heart center of their Being they expanded this vision outward into a great sphere of influence. Then, in what the teachings describe as the Fiat of “Let there be Light,” they spun out of their very Selves the Universal Light Substance from which everything that followed would be built.

Our sun, the physical sun you see in the sky, is the body of Helios and Vesta. They give life not only to Earth but to all seven planets of our solar system.

THE SILENT WATCHERS AND THE ELOHIM

With the design complete, a Mighty Being known as the Cosmic Silent Watcher was called forth from the Great Silence. Into her consciousness was placed the complete design of all seven planets. She accepted the responsibility of holding what the teachings call the Immaculate Concept, the perfect divine blueprint, for each planet until the moment of its creation.

For Earth specifically, another great Being was summoned: the Planetary Silent Watcher, known as Immaculata. She received into her keeping the design for Earth alone and accepted the responsibility of holding that perfect pattern until the divine plan is fulfilled to its last detail. The teachings describe her as a prisoner of Love, holding the blueprint of Earth’s perfection across millions of years, never releasing it regardless of what humanity has done to the planet or to itself.

She is still holding it now.

When the cosmic moment for Earth’s birth arrived, the Seven Mighty Elohim were summoned. The Elohim are the great Cosmic Builders of Form, beings of such magnitude that their work operates at the level of planetary creation. They stood around the Planetary Silent Watcher, studied the divine blueprint held in her consciousness, and went to work.

They projected mighty light rays from their combined consciousness to form the matrix of the new planet. Then they called forth the Directors of the Forces of Nature: Virgo for earth, Neptune for water, Aries for air, while Helios and Vesta themselves contributed the element of fire. The Spirit of Spring, a Being called Amaryllis, came with legions of Angelic and Elemental helpers to clothe the Earth in beauty.

Nine hundred consecutive cycles of springtime passed, the teachings tell us, to make the Earth more and more beautiful before any soul would inhabit it. Lakes, rivers, waterfalls, crystal seas, mountains reaching toward the sky, forests, flowers of every kind. The Earth was prepared with a love and care that most of humanity has never heard described.

THE SPIRIT SPARKS

While the Earth was being built and beautified, something else was happening.

Helios and Vesta were drawing from the Great Central Sun the Spirit Sparks who would become its inhabitants. The Great Central Sun, governed by the Cosmic Beings Alpha and Omega, is the spiritual center of our galaxy and the source of life for all solar systems within it. Alpha and Omega themselves draw from something higher still, what the teachings call the Great First Cause, the infinite I AM, the Source beyond all sources. These Spirit Sparks, individualized points of divine consciousness drawn from the infinite I AM, rested within the heart of Vesta, waiting for the moment of their projection into form.

When the Earth was ready, the Spirit Sparks were directed into Universal Light, the primal electronic substance of creation made of intelligent, obedient electrons, the same light-energy that the teachings describe as forming the aura of God and from which all form in the universe is made. There, each Spirit Spark became the seed of an individualized identity, and this was the original individualized human: not a physical creature, not a product of biological evolution, but a being of pure electronic Light standing in the full presence of God.

The Maha Chohan, meaning the Great Lord, is one of the highest members of the Spiritual Hierarchy serving this planet. In the Bridge to Freedom teachings, he speaks directly on the nature of Twin Rays:

”When the Great God Flame is first projected forth as an individualized Intelligence from the Heart of God, It contains within Its Very Self the Masculine and Feminine Aspects of Divinity. Self-conscious and individual choice determines whether or not this White Fire Being will seek to further the individualization of Itself through manifesting as the Twin Rays from the same Heart Source... When the White Fire Being determines to individualize the Twin Rays there is performed a Cosmic Ceremony in which the Electronic Bodies of the Masculine and Feminine Aspects of the One God Flame are externalized and kneel before their own White Fire Source and receive the Blessing and Benediction of the Sun of their System. A Ring of Flame passes from the White Fire Body through Their two Hearts and back again into the White Fire Body.”

These two individualized expressions of one original White Fire Being are what the teachings call Twin Rays, or Twin Flames. The Bridge to Freedom uses both terms for the same teaching. Each is a complete I AM Presence in its own right, one carrying the masculine expression of God and one the feminine, both originating from the same divine source. Some White Fire Beings chose not to divide, remaining as a single undivided presence. Both paths were honored. Both were by conscious free will.

Modern spiritual culture has carried many variations of this concept under different names, but this is the original teaching as given by the Maha Chohan through the Bridge to Freedom.

THE I AM PRESENCE AND THE SILVER CORD

The I AM Presence is not a metaphor or a spiritual concept in the abstract sense. In this teaching, IT is a real, living Being, your individualized God Self, residing above you in what the teachings call the Electronic Body. It is the fullness of what you actually are, temporarily expressing itself through a physical form.

Connecting the I AM Presence to the physical body is what the teachings call the Silver Cord, a stream of electronic light flowing from the I AM Presence down through the Holy Christ Self, the intermediary between the divine and the human, and into the physical body, anchoring in the heart as the Threefold Flame.

In the First Golden Age, when humanity first walked the pristine Earth, this cord was several feet wide. The connection between the physical self and the I AM Presence was direct, luminous, and conscious. Human beings communicated openly with Ascended Masters, Angels and Beings of Light. They lived in full awareness of their divine nature. The teachings describe them as Holy Innocents, pure expressions of God in physical form.

That is what we were.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT

The Silver Cord today, according to the Essential Lessons compiled from the Bridge to Freedom teachings, has shrunk to 1/16th of an inch.

The connection that was once several feet wide, a river of divine light, is now barely perceptible. Fear, which the teachings say entered human consciousness for the first time at what is called the Fall, registered in the four lower bodies. The personal ego was born. The direct, visible presence of the I AM Presence and the Ascended Masters became inaccessible to ordinary human consciousness.

What caused the Fall? Who or what disrupted a civilization so pure and so connected to its Source?

Someone Has Been Watching Over Us

Every culture that has ever existed on this Earth has pointed at something beyond the physical world.

The ancient Egyptians built temples to house their gods and preserve their sacred knowledge. The Greeks encoded their cosmology into myths that have survived three thousand years. Jesus taught in parables that his closest disciples understood differently than the crowds. Plato wrote about Atlantis not as a straightforward historical account but as a dialogue intended to convey a deeper meaning.

What if all of it was pointing at the same thing?

According to the Ascended Master Teachings, it was. And the beings behind all of it have never left.

Who the Ascended Masters Are

An Ascended Master is a being who was once human, just like you and me. They walked the Earth, faced the same struggles, carried the same burdens. Over many lifetimes, they mastered their energy, balanced their karma, and ultimately completed what the teachings call the Ascension: the return of every atom of their being to the full perfection of the Light.

Master Jesus and Mother Mary are the most recognizable examples. So is Saint Germain, the Master most closely associated with the Golden Age now unfolding on Earth. There are many others.

Together, they form what is known as the Great White Brotherhood. That name has nothing to do with race or nationality. The word “white” refers exclusively to the purity of Light. It is a name that predates recorded history.

These are not abstract forces or symbolic archetypes. The teachings describe them as real, individuated beings with names, specific qualities, and assigned responsibilities for different aspects of humanity’s evolution.

The Long Arc: Teaching Through the Veil

For thousands of years, the Masters taught humanity. But they could not do it directly.

Cosmic law determined what could be released and when, based on humanity's collective readiness. The teachings call this the Occult Law. And before you let that word trip you up, let me define it the way the teachings do.

Occult simply means hidden. That is the whole of it. It carries no darkness, no malevolence, no secret society intrigue. Under the Occult Law, spiritual truth could not be given plainly to the general population. It had to be veiled in parables, myths, legends, plays, or encoded in ways that only an initiate would fully understand.

This is why the world’s great spiritual traditions all carry a surface layer and a deeper one. The myths of ancient Egypt and Greece, the parables of Jesus, the dialogues of Plato, the allegorical stories woven into countless cultures: all of it carried real knowledge in the only form permitted at the time.

The vehicle changed across the centuries. The intent never did.

The Karmic Board: Who Decides What Gets Released

You may be wondering: who decides what humanity is ready for, and when?

The answer is a body called the Karmic Board. This is the governing council that oversees the evolution of humanity and grants or denies what the teachings call dispensations: formal permissions for new aspects of truth to be released.

When a Master wants to bring a new teaching forward, they must petition the Karmic Board. The Board examines humanity's readiness, the available cosmic energy, and whether there are enough awakened souls willing to receive and embody the teaching. If the petition is granted, a dispensation is issued. If not, the Master is asked to return when the conditions are met.

This is not bureaucracy for its own sake. The teachings describe it as Cosmic Law in action. Every release of higher truth requires a corresponding investment of energy from the human side. The Masters give; humanity must be willing and able to receive, and act on the teachings.

1930: The Veil Comes Down

In 1930, something unprecedented happened.

The Karmic Board granted a dispensation that set aside the Occult Law in its entirety. For the first time in recorded history, the Ascended Masters were permitted to speak directly to the general public, in plain language, without allegory or veil.

This was the work of the Ascended Master Saint Germain. He chose not to build on any existing religious framework. He started fresh. And through a series of direct dictations to an American couple named Guy and Edna Ballard, he released four specific teachings that had never before been available outside of advanced initiates working inside protected temples:

• The I AM Presence: your individualized God-Presence, the divine reality of who you actually are.

• The Tube of Light: a pillar of protective white light that can be called forth around your energetic and physical body.

• The Violet Transmuting Flame: a spiritual sacred fire that dissolves and transforms discordant energy within the pillar of Light.

• The Ascension: not a metaphor, not a distant afterlife concept, but the actual goal of every human embodiment on Earth.

These were not new ideas invented in 1930. Jesus knew them. He applied them. He demonstrated the Ascension himself and left an example for all of humanity. But the knowledge had been reserved, protected, shared only in the inner chambers of mystery schools, retreats, and church archives.

After 1930, it was available to anyone willing to receive it.

A Living Transmission

What followed 1930 was not a single book or a closed canon. Over the decades, additional dispensations further expanded the teaching. New aspects were released: the qualities and colors of the Seven Rays, the activities of the Archangels and Elohim, the early history of humanity before the Fall of Man, and the retreats of the Masters in the higher realms.

The total body of work runs to over 13,000 pages. It is available free to anyone on Earth.

And it did not stop there. The teachings are not a historical artifact. Authorized messengers continue to receive and transmit this wisdom today. The Masters are still teaching. The Karmic Board continues to grant dispensations as humanity’s collective readiness evolves. What began in 1930 is an ongoing conversation between the ascended realm and the human one.

Why It Matters Now

We are living through a period of planetary transition that the teachings described in detail long before most people felt it coming.

The old structures of finance, governance, and institutional religion are cracking under their own weight. The collective human field is being asked to release patterns that are thousands of years old. And a growing number of people across the planet are waking up to the sense that there is something larger at work, something that the surface level of the news does not begin to explain.

The Ascended Master Teachings speak directly to this moment. Not as prophecy. As a framework. A map of how consciousness evolves, how energy works, and what this transition actually is at the level of cosmic law.

I have been on this path for over four decades. I have worked with these teachings through multiple lineages and teachers. I have watched them prove themselves in my own life, in my own understanding of purpose, abundance, energy, and what it means to be a human being at this time in history.

That is why the Ageless Wisdom section of The Golden Age exists. Not to hand you a belief system, but to give you access to a body of knowledge that most people do not even know is there.

I was sitting in a Lutheran church pew the first time I felt it.

Some of you already know this story from my welcome posts. A presence settled over me, my heart cracked open in a way it hadn’t in years, and I cried. I didn’t have a name for what had happened. I just knew something real had touched me.

It was years later, reading Paramahansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi, that the name arrived.

I came to the chapter where Yogananda describes watching his teacher, Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri, ascend. Not metaphorically. Literally. A physical body dissolving into light, consciously, willingly, as a demonstration of what is possible for every human soul.

I remember the feeling exactly: surprise and excitement arriving at the same moment. Not because the idea was new to me. Somewhere deep inside, I had always known ascension was real. What I hadn’t had was proof. Now I did. And something that had been quietly waiting in me suddenly had room to breathe.

That was also the moment I understood what I had felt in that church. The presence I had encountered, the one that opened my heart, was Yeshua (aka Jesus). Not as a historical figure trapped in doctrine. As a living Ascended Master.

Most people in the Western world have encountered Yeshua’s teachings through the Bible, at least on the surface. Love your neighbor. Do unto others. The kingdom of heaven is within you.

What most people don’t know is that those teachings were never meant to be the whole picture. They were parables and stories designed to reach people where they were. Yeshua is one of many Masters. Saint Germain, El Morya, Kuthumi, Lady Nada, Serapis Bey, Kuan Yin. These are not mythological figures. They are beings who walked this earth, mastered the laws that govern consciousness and energy, and completed their evolution here. They did not disappear. They continued to work with humanity from a higher frequency, offering guidance to those willing to listen.

What they teach is not new. It is what Yeshua taught, and what the mystery schools have always taught, just spoken plainly, without the parables and the mystery, in language any sincere seeker can follow.

So what do they actually teach about this moment?

They teach that we are in a transition unlike anything in recorded human history. Not a political transition, though politics are certainly moving. A transition in the frequency of the Earth itself. A shift from one age to another, from density and separation into something more luminous, more connected, more aligned with what we actually are.

The Ascended Masters have been teaching for centuries in various incarnations, preparing humanity for exactly this period. The Archangels and Cosmic Beings are also actively involved. What is being written now, through their combined work, are the foundational spiritual instructions for humanity today and for the civilizations that follow on this earth.

The Ascending Masters of Light work I have been studying speaks directly to the practical business of navigating it.

They teach that the chaos we see around us is not evidence that things are falling apart. It is evidence that they are being rearranged. The old structures, financial, governmental, and institutional, were built on separation and control. They cannot maintain their form at higher frequencies. What appears to be a collapse from within the old world looks different from a broader perspective.

They teach that the work right now is internal. Not passive. Not waiting. But conscious, deliberate work on your own frequency, your own patterns, your own relationship to fear and love. Because the world that comes next is not built by those who predict it correctly. It is built by those who have done enough inner work to carry a higher frequency into their daily lives.

And they teach that this is not exclusive. Not reserved for initiates with decades of practice. The invitation is genuinely open. This moment in history exists, in part, because enough people are ready.

I have been sitting with these teachings for forty years. They have shaped how I invest, how I think about money, how I understood the forest when I worked in the woods, how I walked away from a career when the numbers stopped making sense, and how I rebuilt something more aligned.

This section of The Golden Age exists because we all need these teachings, now more than ever, not a watered-down version, not an academic summary, but the living substance of it, as clearly and practically as I can present it.

We are living in the most significant moment of Earth’s existence, and we all chose to be here, even if we don’t remember.
